no和not是英语中经常会用到的表示否定的词。虽然意思一样，但词性和用法不同。
no是形容词，后面直接加名词，如“no milk”（没有牛奶）；no作为名词时，以为否认，可以单独存在，如：No, I do not.
not是副词，修饰动词、形容词、副词、连词等，如“I can not swim”（我不会游泳）。“He does not like apples”.(他不喜欢苹果)
例句：
The students went on strike, but __not_ the teachers. （空格后面紧挨着的是“the”，不是名词，所以填写not）
I am __not__ a teacher. （空格后紧挨着“a”，不是名词，所以填写not）
I do _not__ like running. （空格后紧挨着“like”，不是名词，所以填写not）
There is ___no__ water on the table。 （空格后紧挨着“water”，是名词，所以填写no）
例外： 只有在有比较级的句子中不是这个用法！
用not，一般比较结构，意为“比不上”或“不如”
用no，一般说来“no+形容词或副词比较级+than”意为该形容词或副词的相反含义。
例句：He is not taller than Jim. 他不如JIM高。
He is no taller than Jim.他比JIM矮。
